Jimmie Crutchfield & Ted "Double Duty" Radcliffe Autographed Poster
From the personal collection of Prentice Mills, Negro League researcher and author of Black Ball News, this is a 1990 reprint of a Negro League game poster from the 1930s featuring two of the most powerful teams ever to take the field. The poster is autographed by Jimmie Crutchfield, star centerfielder of the Crawfords, and the legendary Ted "Double Duty" Radcliffe who earned his nickname by serving as both catcher and pitcher. He was often half of the Satchel Paige/Ted Radcliffe battery that dominated hitters in the mid-1930s.
The signatures were personally obtained by Prentice Mills. A letter of authenticity signed by him will accompany the poster.
The poster measures approximately 14" x 22", was printed by letterpress with wood type and metal foundry type on vintage equipment in 1990 on heavy placard board as was used for advertising showcards during the 1930s.
Only one poster is available. Signature placement may vary from the poster shown.
